Not the safari everyone sees. The one that waits beyond the road — where Ally knows most of the prides in the wilderness, and the Migration follows no script.
Guided Tanzania is not a booking agency. We are field experts — a zoologist, a mountain guide, and a team that has collectively spent more than a century in the wilderness of East Africa. We do not contract out. Ally Kileo personally leads every safari. Joseph Mapima personally leads every summit. Your adventure is never handed to a stranger.
We are guide-owned. We bypass intermediaries. We pay our team more, which means Tanzania's finest guides choose to work with us — and you receive an experience that no five-star lodge catalogue can replicate.
Other operators sell destinations. We sell the people who know them better than anyone alive. Ally and Joseph are not employees assigned to your booking — they are the reason every single guest comes back.

The Safari Guided for Jeff and myself by Ally was incredible. His experience in over 20 years really paid off. He knew where to go that avoided the many tour vehicles but made sure that we got up close views of all the animals. His ability to spot and find was amazing and on each drive his goal was to be the first to find one of the big 5. While driving he continuously looked at both sides of our car to find the animals and at the same time his driving was expert, very safe and cautious. Since we could not leave the car because of the possibility of attack from the animals it was most important that Ally made them accessible to us. We had binoculars but did not have to use them very much. As the only women on this safari, I was impressed with Ally’s inclusion of me in all decisions. Some of the animals we viewed up close were Elephants, lions, Giraffes, Gazels, Leopards, Cheetahs, Zebras and many types of antelopes. A real advantage of Guided Tanzania was that Ally was able to modify the pace and routines of our trip and did so in ways to always make sure we were comfortable but not compromising our safari experience. As we are both older, this ability led to a wonderful experience. Really personable he also shared his vast knowledge of the animals as well as the many cultures that we encountered which really added to the richness of our trip. The places we stopped to stay in were also wonderful. He planned our routes so that we always arrived at our tents or hotel in plenty of time to rest before dinner. The food was always excellent including the box lunches we had every day. It was an amazing Safari and Jeff and I would love to go again with Ally as our guide.
As a biologist with 40 years experience in wildlife conservation, I strongly recommend traveling with Ally. He correctly identified 48 bird species, 31 mammals, and four reptiles. He is a very ethical guide. He will get you good views of the wildlife without changing its behaviour.
Ally exceeded every expectation. He was like the swiss army knife of Tanzanian guides. He seemed to know everyone, everything and every place. As much as I want to see the rest of the world, I'm already looking forward to more adventures in Tanzania with Ally.
Hi Ally. What a great trip!! Blair and I had such a nice time, and you were the perfect guide. You are fun to be with, your knowledge was impressive, and you were able to be calm and helpful when that was needed. Today alone at breakfast I wondered where everyone was and the same last night not sharing a room with Blair. It really was a wonderful trip.
I really respected Ally's professional abilities, his knowledge, his planning, and ability to adapt on the fly. I can't imagine a better tour guide. It was like watching Tom Brady running a two-minute drill.
